About NITHM
The National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM), established in 2004 by the Ministry of Tourism – Govt. of India and Govt. of Andhra Pradesh (now Government of Telangana) offers MBA (Tourism & Hospitality Management); BBA (Tourism & Hospitality Management) under Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University – Hyderabad and B.Sc (Hotel & Hospitality Administration) under the aegis of (NCHMCT) National Council of Hotel & Catering Technology – New Delhi.
NITHM is a pioneer institution in the area of tourism and hospitality education, research and consultancy.
NITHM began academic operations in October 2004, as a sector-specific institute, modeled on the lines of IIT’s and IIM’s. NITHM focuses on education, research, training, and consultancy in the tourism and hospitality sector in India and abroad.

Experience: 24 years (Academic: 22 years & Industry: 02 years)
Over two decades of dedicated teaching and industry engagement, designed and delivered
comprehensive tourism curriculum, research, and fostering industry partnerships. Working as
a Assistant Professor (Tourism Management) and Course Coordinator for the MBA (Tourism
& Hospitality) program & Examination Branch at the National Institute of Tourism and
Hospitality Management, India. Ph. D. in the area of Cultural Tourism, Masters in Tourism
Administration, UGC NET Qualified, Bachelor degree in Mathematics, and pursued
additionally three Post Graduates diploma programs in Management, Human Resource
Management, Accommodation Operation & Management. Teaching Postgraduate and
Bachelor course in Tourism Management such as Destination Management, HRM, Tour
Guiding and Escorting, Tourism Policy and Planning etc. Published and presented Research
papers in peer-reviewed journals, and International Conferences respectively. Developed and
delivered many programs like State Level Archaeological Guide Training Programme for
Telangana State, Tourists Warden Training Program, Tourist Friendly Auto Drivers program,
etc. He is serving the institution as a member of several committees in the college. He is
lively and amiable by nature and passionate about travelling. He is committed to transforming
in the lives of his students by continuous interactions, patiently listening to students and
guidance.

An FDP was completed at IIT Varanasi in November 2020.
PhD guidance is being provided to Management Research Scholars at ICFAI University, Jharkhand.
Lectures have been delivered as a Visiting Professor at ITM Business School and ESCI.
As a Trainer:
More than 800 faculties and research scholars have been trained in the area of SPSS Data Analytics across various business schools and universities, including AIMS, GITAM HBS, ESCI, CBIT, MANUU, Siddhartha PB Institute of Management, SSB, and Pendekanti Institute of Management, Hyderabad.
Areas of Teaching Interest:
International Financial Management, Advanced Management Accounting, MEFA, Banking, Advanced Research Methodology, Advanced SPSS, Financial Modeling, Securities Analysis, Portfolio Management, and Treasury & Forex Operations Management.
PhD Details:
A PhD was awarded for research on the Financial Performance of Regional Rural Banks at Sri Krishnadevaraya University in 2009.
Achievements & Awards:
The Best International Research Paper Award was received in 2019.
A Gold Medal for Best Research Paper was awarded at the AIMS Convention in 2023.

Professional Summary: With 35 years of expertise in Industry and academics of
travel & tourism, airlines, hospitality & event management, Prof ( Dr.) Potukuchi
Thryambakam is knowledgeable in International Accreditation Framework of
various countries. He worked in Naresuan University International College,
Naresuan University, Phitsanulok, Thailand as International Overseas Specialist
Professor in Tourism. He also worked in Askum University, Ethiopia as Professor
in Tourism. In India he is involved in NAAC, NERF, IQAC and other quality and
accreditation bodies and was the head of many Board of Studies, and Curriculum
Committees of different universities and institutes. He has organized and handled
international conferences, symposiums and workshops at global levels in the above
domains.
Current Role – Working as Subject Matter Expert ( Tourism & Hospitality
Management), NITHM, Hyderabad and Lead of Work Package 5 of SIPAS Project.

Govind Raj Emmadi

Govind Raj Emmadi

Govinda Raj Emmadi is a seasoned tourism professional with over 38 years of national and international experience. He holds an MBA from the University of Botswana and Postgraduate Diplomas in Tourism from Salzburg, Austria, and IHMCT, Hyderabad. Currently pursuing a PhD at Acharya Nagarjuna University in India where he is also a visiting professor.
He represented India at the Institute of Tourism, Salzburg (1991) and served as a Principal Tourism Officer in Botswana (1997-2009), contributing to its National Tourism Master Plan and community-based eco-tourism projects. As Officer on Special Duty (OSD-Tourism) in AP/Telangana (2012-2016), he secured ₹100+ crores in central funding and played a key role in winning seven National Tourism Awards.
He has also led training and consultancy initiatives at National Institute of Tourism & Hospitality Management (NITHM) and optimized its administration as Chief Administrative Officer. Currently, he is also working as Subject Matter Expert (SME) at NITHM.
